Diego Maradona: Argentina vs. England, 1986

After scoring one of the most controversial goals just 4 minutes earlier Diego Maradona produced one of the best goals the world has ever seen.

Maradona was truly one of greatest players ever to play the beautiful game and this goal sums him up perfectly. Receiving the ball in his own half and with his back to goal, he completes a 180 degree drag back turn and is away from two England defenders. Maradona attacks direct towards the England goal at frightening pace, dancing past another two defenders before rounding Peter Shilton and coolly slotting the ball in the goal.

Argentina went on to become World Champions after beating Germany 3-2 in the 1986 final with Maradona being a key figure of their triumph.
