Cambiasso: Argentina vs. Serbia & Montenegro, 2006

We have seen many great individual goals at World Cups over the years; here is an example of a sublime team goal.

Argentina started the 2006 World Cup in Germany as joint favorites and it's not hard to see why. This goal demonstrates that we don’t always have to play the ball forward, if the option isn't there then pass to the easy option and keep hold of the ball. This is what Argentina did fantastically well and after completing an astonishing 24 passes Esteben Cambiasso fires the ball into the back of the net.

Argentina progressed through the knockout stages before being eliminated in the Quarter Finals by the hosts, Germany.
