Gordon Banks: England vs. Brazil, 1970

Gordon Banks is a former England International goalkeeper who played his club soccer at Chesterfield, Leicester & Stoke City. Banks was a member of the 1966 World Cup Winning England side and was voted as 2nd best goalkeeper of the 20th Century by IFFHS (International Federation of Football History & Statistics).

A fantastic ball across from Brazil's Jairzinho is met by arguably the greatest player of all time, Pele. His fabled downward header had goal written all over it. Unfortunately for Pele and his Brazilian squad Gordon Banks was equal to the header and somehow managed to get down to his right and scoop the ball over the bar.
