United Soccer Academy's High School Team Weeks are the premier High School pre-season camp in the region and USA's flagship High School Camp. High School Teams from throughout New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania have enjoyed this pre-season event which has a reputation for high level instruction and competitive scrimmages all at one location.
The day is broken down in to training sessions in the mornings, followed by scrimmages in the afternoon. Training sessions are specific to the pre-season with a technical and conditioning emphasis but all sessions are tailored to meet the individual needs of the team. Through interaction with the High School coach.
Players are placed in teams based on where they would fall within the school squads i.e. Varsity, JV and Freshman and those groups of teams are pooled together for scrimmages against other High Schools throughout the week. Varsity squads play against other Varsity squads and freshmen play against other freshman squads, etc.

History of Success:
Unmatched by any other company, High School players and coaches have been trained by USA since 1981. Throughout this period teams have achieved all levels of success including Conference, County and State Championships. USA understands the needs of both the High School player and coach; this understanding has allowed us to develop the optimum camp experience for all participants.
Specialist Curriculum:
United Soccer Academy staff will specifically design the camp to meet the needs of your High School team. This is done by communicating directly with the High School coach to ensure that he or she gets the exact training they require for their team. If a coach does not choose a specific team curriculum then the USA High School curriculum will be followed.
Structured Team Environment:
That is designed to maximize the learning opportunity for each player and team, every moment, every day. Trainers pay careful attention to all aspects of the game, while building from a technical base to a tactical and functional level.
Qualified, Experienced Staff:
All trainers are licensed by National and International coaching bodies and are committed to teaching the game to both male and female players. Many of our trainers come from a teaching background and this experience only enhances the quality of the program.
Competitive Opposition: (Multi-Team Day Camp Only)
There are opportunities to put theory into practice through scrimmages with other High School teams. Scrimmages are used as a valuable coaching tool and are monitored and refereed very closely. Games are frequently frozen to highlight key coaching points.

Multi-Team Camp - Goalkeepers
The goalkeeper position requires specific individual attention. Our goalkeeping curriculum was designed by Alan Thompson (N.W. Regional School of Excellence, England) with technical input from Martin Prickett (Watford Football Club, England).
This goalkeeping curriculum has been designed to ensure that all goalkeepers experience a well-rounded camp experience. The sessions begin in a low pressure technical environment and build into game realistic situations. Goalkeepers will have numerous opportunities to face shooting practice from various teams at both the Varsity, JV and Freshmen level.
The Goalkeepers will spend the majority of the morning sessions away from their team and with the specific goalkeeper trainers. In the afternoons, or for specific tactical sessions they will return to their teams. All keepers will return to their team in the afternoon for the scrimmage and tactical portion of the camp. Trainers will spend time during the sessions dealing with the extremely important issues of both concentration and confidence. Coaching in game situations and constructive feedback of performance will reinforce this point.
.
Single Team Camp - Goalkeepers
Goalkeepers in Single Team Camps will be incorporated into the regular team training environment. In instances where there are a large number of goalkeepers present at a single team site then s specific goalkeeping curriculum may be ran.

"Our program was instructed by very competent coaches who took the extra time to teach the fundamentals and more advance tactics that were needed for our program. Whether it was our younger team of Freshman or our more advanced team of veteran players.....the instruction was outstanding and the players improved dramatically throughout the week."
Todd W. Boepple, Hackettstown H.S. Varsity Coach"I'll definitely be promoting and encouraging this summer's H.S. camp as it's such a great way to gear up for the season!"
Katie Donahue, Ridge H.S. Varsity Coach
"With the rising cost of team camps for high school athletes ($400, $450, $475), United Soccer Academy has offered High Point Regional High School a sensible and affordable program alternative. Our team requires an intense and specialized pre-season program and the United Soccer Academy exceeds my expectation each year. I highly recommend United Soccer Academy for your training and preseason goals. Your team will feed off their winning philosophy and the results will be evident by performance."
Kevin Fenlon, High Point Regional H.S. Varsity Coach

Day One: Attacking With The Ball (dribbling & ball familiarity) & Small Sided Games
When to hold the ball and when to penetrate. Focus on players ability and confidence to beat players using a variety of moves. Look at the player with the ball as the first attacker, focusing on when, where and how to penetrate with the ball. Use small sided games to assess players ability on the first day so the USA trainer, can plan accordingly for the remainder of the week. Design practices that challenges a players ability to think for themselves and make decisions.
Day Two: Principles & Styles Of Defending
Individual and group defending focusing on pressure, deny, delay, depth, balance and concentration. Defensive clearances and movement. Concepts of pressurizing defender, supporting defender and balancing defender. Defensive responsibilities of all positions. Defensive decision making in relation to the game score. Applying the principles of defending to group and team units; this will include high and low pressure defending, man to man or zonal defending, defending in different areas of the field and training the team to work collectively within a unit. This will lead to defensive organization and decision making through a tactical overview of different formations and their impact on defensive tactics.
